Established in 1971, we are one of UC's oldest and largest student organizations

The University of Cincinnati Mountaineering Club (UCMC) is student organization dedicated to getting students outside through a like-minded community. We provide students with the gear and education required to reach their outdoor goals. We are run on volunteer trip leaders, giving students the opportunity to acquire leadership and team work skills, as well as building self-confidence in the outdoors. 

UCMC members partake in mountaineering, canoeing, rock climbing, kayaking, caving, backpacking, white water rafting, and much more. Club trips range from beginner to advanced trips, giving everyone the opportunity to get involved. Club members plan trips every weekend, holiday, and school break throughout the year. 

We have around 300 active members, and a greater online community numbering in the thousands. During our weekly meetings we discuss upcoming trips, planning potential trips, and our weekly presentation. Weekly presentations range from informative speakers to educational classes, and everything in between!
